Welcome to ALVIWO
To build a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovative communities by creating a digital one-stop platform that empowers international talent to relocate, integrate, and contribute meaningfully to local development. By bridging the gap between newcomers and local communities, we foster a sense of belonging and long-term integration.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive platform that streamlines the relocation process for skilled individuals – particularly expats, researchers, and academic professionals. By facilitating connections to housing, essential services, and community life beyond the major urban centers, we strive to ease the transition into a new country. As a mission-driven organization, we are dedicated to reinvesting in initiatives that create lasting positive impact within local communities.
While we reinvest more than 75% of our profit to enhancing our services and supporting community initiatives, we generate our revenue in two ways:
Relocation Packages: We offer value-added services which may include personalized support, one-on-one consultations, local orientation tours, or handling admin tasks like CPR registration or bank setup.
Affiliate Links & Partnerships: Some links on our site may generate a small commission when you make a purchase or book a service. We only partner with providers we trust and believe bring value to our community.
These income streams allow us to remain independent, transparent, and sustainable without compromising our mission.
We know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to relocate to a new country – especially one like Denmark. While there are many digital resources available, finding clear, relevant, and trustworthy answers when you need them most isn’t always easy.
For many expats or international talents, the reality of starting fresh involves more than just logistics – it’s about building a life. Often, one partner begins work right away, while the other takes on the invisible (and unpaid) labor of managing the move, finding housing, navigating public systems, enrolling kids in school and trying to feel at home. It can be isolating, stressful, and hard to manage without support.
At ALVIWO, we believe a successful relocation starts before you even arrive, continues at the moment of landing, and evolves as you settle in. That journey doesn’t have a clear end date – because no matter how long you’ve been here, even after 10 years, it can still be difficult to truly feel like you fit in.
That’s why we’re here. Whether you’re just arriving or have been in Denmark for a decade, ALVIWO exists to guide, support, and empower you to build a life where you feel connected, confident, and at home.
We also focus on relocation opportunities outside of Denmark’s major cities – and that’s a conscious choice. We understand how expensive urban living can be, especially for families trying to establish a new life. But cost isn’t the only reason: these smaller municipalities are often still located near universities and global companies, giving you access to great professional and educational opportunities without the high price tag.
Additionally, settling in smaller communities helps bridge another challenge many expats face: learning the language. An expat once shared with us, “If you really want to learn Danish, move to a smaller town – because people there actually speak it.” In these areas, daily interactions tend to happen in Danish, which can accelerate language learning and help newcomers feel more integrated into the local culture.
At ALVIWO, we don’t just help people move – we help them belong.

I work at Aalborg University, where I support large-scale research projects on the finance and administration side — from budgeting and grant applications to reporting and compliance. I’ve spent over 10 years working in international environments, both in private companies and now in the public sector, where I navigate complex systems with a mix of structure, strategy, and heart.
Outside of my day job, I founded ALVIWO, a purpose-driven platform that helps international talents and newcomers settle into life in Denmark. I also run Happy Friday Studio, our family-led design brand, and CharmSquad, a creative project with my kids.
To stay active, I enjoy being part of a small running club in the Department of Computer Science - a great way to stay connected as well.
Across all my work, I draw from lived experience — bridging cultures, systems, and ideas — to make things feel a little more human, and a little easier for the next person.
Founder Story: Why I Built ALVIWO
I moved to Denmark as a young teen, carrying big dreams and very little Danish. Like many others, I had to figure out everything from scratch — new systems, unfamiliar streets, even what to write on my college application. It wasn’t easy, but I learned to adapt, step by step.
Years later, after building a life, career, and family here, I found myself constantly helping newcomers — with the same things I once struggled with: applications, permits, paperwork, cultural know-how, and figuring out where to even begin.
That’s why I created ALVIWO.
It started simply — just me sharing useful links, tips, and answering messages from people in the same shoes I once wore. Over time, I realized there was a bigger need: a central place to support people who are new to Denmark — especially those moving from abroad for work, study, or family.
I built ALVIWO to be that place. It’s a purpose-driven platform built from experience, empathy, and a desire to give something meaningful back: To make the transition easier for others, because I know what it’s like to start over.
Whether you’re moving here to study or work, starting a new life with your family, or exploring opportunities in Denmark, this platform is here for you.
If my story resonates with you — as someone arriving, hiring, or simply wanting to help — I invite you to join our newsletter or get in touch.
This is my way of giving back. ALVIWO is built from lived experience, and built for you.
